What we collect

When you create an account we collect your name, email address and the role you sign up as. Homeowners who post a project provide project details, answers about the work, a city and ZIP code, and the street address, phone number and email you want the hired contractor to use. Contractors who apply for verification provide business details, responsible-party details, licence and insurance details, and the documents they upload.

How we use it

We use this information to run the marketplace: to write a scope of work for your project, show your project to contractors who can bid on it, review contractor verification applications, deliver bids and awards, and send transactional email about activity on your account. We do not sell your personal information.

Who can see what

• • Contractors browsing an open project see the work, the scope, your budget range, your ideal start date, and your city and ZIP code. They do not see your street address, phone number or email address.
• • Your street address, phone number and email address are released only to the contractor you hire, and only after you award the project.
• • Bids are private. A contractor cannot see another contractor's bid; only you see the bids on your project.
• • Verification documents are stored privately. Only the business that uploaded them and BIDOVA reviewers can open them, through short-lived links.
• • A verified contractor's business name, trades, service area, licence number and insurance carrier are shown publicly in our contractor directory.

Storage, sharing and retention

Account data, projects, bids and verification records are stored in our hosted database and file storage. We use service providers to host the application and to send email. Some project text and contractor-facing questions are processed by AI providers to produce a scope of work and bid comparison. We keep your data while your account is active, and keep project, bid and verification records afterwards where we need them for our records or to meet legal obligations.

Your choices

You can edit your profile and project details in the app at any time. To request a copy of your data or deletion of your account, contact us at the address on our support page. Deleting an account does not remove records of a completed project from the other party's account.

Children

BIDOVA is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for material changes, notify account holders by email.
